GRAND OPENING ALERT!

New Medowie location

We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Peppertree GP Clinic in Medowie! This momentous occasion took place on Wednesday, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this news with you all.

To mark this special event, we had the honour of having Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. With his support, we officially declared the clinic open to provide high-quality healthcare services to the community.

At Peppertree GP Clinic, we are part of a team of highly qualified professionals to cater to your healthcare needs.  The clinic boasts five exceptional GPs and a range of multidisciplinary services, such as physiotherapy, audiology, and podiatry.

We are especially proud to introduce our very own Podiatrist, Courtney, who will offer expert care in children’s and adults’ podiatry. Whether you need assistance with foot and ankle issues or require specialised treatment, Courtney will provide comprehensive podiatric services tailored to your needs.

Thank you all for your unwavering support of Footprints Podiatry Medowie. We look forward to serving you and your loved ones with compassion, expertise, and dedication. Together, let’s embark on a healthier, happier future!

Interesting facts about Podiatry

Podiatry is that it is one of the oldest medical specialities. The first recorded instance of foot care dates back to ancient Egypt around 2600 BC, where carvings depicting foot care have been found in tombs. Podiatrists, also known as foot and ankle surgeons, are specially trained to diagnose and treat conditions of the feet and ankles. They often work with patients who have diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and other conditions that affect the feet and ankles.

Qualifications for the APA

To become an Australian Podiatry Association (APA) member, an individual must meet specific qualifications. These include completing a recognized undergraduate or postgraduate degree in podiatry, completing a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised clinical practice, and passing the APA's written and practical examinations. Additionally, members must adhere to the APA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and participate in continuing professional development to maintain their membership. It is important to note that the registration and qualifications needed to practice as a podiatrist in Australia may vary depending on the state or territory in which you want to practice.
